 Federal Pell Grant

Eligibility for the grant is based on 2007 income as well as other factors. Students who have received a Bachelor's degree before July 1, 2008, or already have a B.A. / B.S., are ineligible to receive the Pell Grant. Monies are awarded quarterly and applied directly to college tuition and fees.

Both the interest and principal repayment begin approximately 60 days after the last disbursement of the loan. The lender will perform a credit check on the parent(s). If the parent(s) is/are declined for the PLUS loan, the dependent student may apply for additional direct loans up to independent student award limits.

 Federal Direct Loans

Subsidized
This need-based loan program provides funds to eligible students, and is required to be paid back. Interest on this loan is waived while the student is enrolled in school at least half-time, and during a six-month grace period following the student's graduation. Principal repayment of the loan begins after the six-month grace period. Eligibility is based primarily on 2007 income.

Unsubsidized
This loan program is not need-based. Interest on this loan is due while the student is enrolled in school, but can be deferred. If the interest is deferred, it will automatically be capitalized (added to the principal amount borrowed). Principal repayment of the loan begins after a six-month grace period following the student's graduation or last day of attendance.

 Corporate Reimbursement
