Our intelligent, competent faculty train students to provide skilled, structured and safe touch in a nurturing environment, creating a relationship that joins people in a healing partnership. All instructors meet the credentialing requirements of the State of Colorado and ACCSCT.

Cheryl Allen, CMT, - a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts 1000 Hour Certification Program and the Advanced Neuromuscular Program. In addition to a private practice, she teaches the CSHA Advanced Neuromuscular Program. Her patience teaches students to strive and strive again to get something right and to have patience with their own difficulties.

Mark Braukman, CMT, and C.N. ™ - a graduate of Colorado University, has an M. A., Biology, B.S., Medical Technology, B.A. in Zoology. Mark is also a graduate from the Colorado School of Healing Arts (CSHA) and is the Director of Degree Programs. He has been with the school since 1992 and plays a significant role in the continued development of the CSHA training programs. Mark is certified in St. John Neuromuscular, is a Certified Nutritionist and has completed more than 130 semester hours of continuing education in bodywork and nutrition classes in the last 10 years.

Sarah Bedell, N.D., -is a graduate from Washington University and Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Sarah is a Naturopathic Physician, lectures publicly and is a member of the Children’s Wellness Network. Her educational philosophy is that learning has a lot to do with the self motivation of the student and good teaching is a great influence on student motivation. Sarah teaches Diet and Nutrition and Physiology for the Colorado School of Healing Arts.

Julia Bershenyi, RPP, RCST, - Julia holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado. She began studying healing arts at the Colorado School of Energy Studies in Boulder in 1995 and is certified in both Polarity Therapy and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (Franklyn Sills). Julia has a private practice in Golden. She finds the Polarity and Craniosacral work profoundly meaningful, rewarding, and instructive, and she feels blessed and grateful to do it. Julia has been teaching Introduction to Polarity at CSHA since 1998. She loves teaching the class and delights in helping students learn about the power of energy.

Galen Colton, CMT - M.A.,Sports Medicine from the University of Kansas and a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts. Galen teaches Applied Kinesiology, Oncology Massage, Integrative Massage, Sports Massage and is a Clinic Director. Galen has been teaching for the Colorado School of Healing Arts since 1998.

Jody Crider, CMT- B. S. from the California Polytechnic State University in Business Administration and Marketing. Jody is a graduate from the Colorado School of Healing Arts, teaches the business class for CSHA, and works with the community and students in supervising CSHA volunteer events. In addition to her own private practice she is a member of the Colorado Sports Massage Team.

Marcia Franks, CMT, - a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts 700 Hour Massage Therapy Program and the 230 Hour Reflexology Program. Marcia teaches Reflexology for CSHA. Her private practice is in Aurora; Marcia says she loves working with people as everyone has a story to tell, and more often than not the feet do the talking.

Laura Golay, CMT - is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts and owner of Temple Touch. Laura has been employed by St. Anthony’s Cardiac Rehab Center as a massage therapist since 2001. She loves to paint and draw and brings her talent into the classroom along with her appreciation for the wonderfulness of the human body. She imagines the body as a musical instrument, requiring care and tuning; and when additional care is given, the more beautifully it will perform. Her patent passion for the structure and function of the human body is evident as she tutors future therapists in anatomy and physiology. Laura also teaches Massage Level III for CSHA.

Judy Harper, CMT - is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts. She teaches Massage Level I for the school. Judy loves the art of massage; she feels the mastery of the art is gained through close attention to methods/technique as well as the refinement of natural gifts. Judy has been teaching Massage Level I for the Colorado School of Healing Arts since 2002.

Alice Henderson, CMT- holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Colorado and is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts 1000 Hour Massage Therapy Program. Alice has a private practice and works at St. Anthony Hospital as a Massage Therapist. She loves learning and loves being able to provide the basic educational tools that will facilitate the continuous education of a massage therapist. Alice has been teaching Anatomy and Palpation of Anatomy for CSHA for 7 years.

Brandon Hoy, CMT- is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree in Massage Therapy and specializes in Cranial Sacral Therapy. Brandon is one of the Cranial Sacral instructors for CSHA and a member of the CSHA administration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Janell Jones, CMT - holds a Master of Science degree from the University of California (UCLA) and is a graduate of the CSHA 700 Hour Massage Therapy Program. Her professional experience as a staff researcher and instructor for UCLA makes Janell an appropriate and welcome member of the Colorado School of Healing Arts science teaching staff and the school’s mission to continue development of some of the most progressive massage programs in the country. She teaches Anatomy, Physiology, Neuroanatomy, and Pathology for the Colorado School of Healing Arts. She works to create an interactive learning environment and encourages students to take an active role in their education.

Cheryl Johnson, CMT, - is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts 700 Hour Massage Therapy Program, Sports Massage Program,Lymphatic Drainage Program and Oncology Massage Program. Her successful private practice which focuses on Oncology Massage for clients in the different stages of cancer; terminal treatment, recovery and survivors has given Cheryl not only the experience in working with clients with cancer but also the support and respect of the medical healthcare community. Those who work closely with Cheryl know that learning/teaching for Cheryl is deeply personal and inherently social; the idea that it connects us to each other is why she is able to notice something special about each student and each client. She teaches Oncology Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, and Massage Levels I & II.

Kelly Johnson, CMT, - a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts 1000 Hour Massage Therapy Program and the 530 Hour Cranial Sacral Program. Kelly is the perfect mentor for therapists whose objective is to provide skilled, structured and safe touch in a nurturing environment; creating a client therapist relationship that joins in a healing partnership. Kelly has her own private practice and teaches Massage I, II, and III for CSHA.

Emily Kamla, CMT, - holds a B.S. from Metro College in Denver. She is a graduate of the CSHA 1000 Hour Massage Therapy Program and the 224 Hour Reflexology Program . Emily has her private practice located in southeast Denver and has taught Massage Level I, II, and Body Centered Therapy for CSHA for more than 6 years. Emily brings some of the basic elements of a learning culture into her classroom; a belief that people will and can learn and the belief that people can change their environment.

John Lipe, CMT,- B.S. from Western State College in Business Administraiton. John is also a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts AOS Degree in Massage Therapy with an emphasis in Neuromuscular and Sports Massage. John teaches Neuromuscular Massage and Sports Massage for CSHA. In addition to teaching, he has a private practice and is a massage therapist for the Rocky Mountain Sports Massage Team. John is deeply interested in physical health, spiritual growth, and being a happy person enjoying the beauty of life. He enjoys camping, scuba diving, and traveling.

Stan Mavridis, BSc. CSMT, - B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado in Boulder and graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts (CSHA) Massage Therapy program in 1994. Stan returns to CSHA after working in London, England as UK Athletics Accredited Sports Massage Therapist since 1998. During Stan’s time abroad, he was a Sports Massage Therapist at the British Olympic Holding Camp for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and the Co-Director / Massage Therapist for the Athens Olympic Health Services Sports Massage Team in 2004. He was an assistant instructor with George Kousaleos in Stockholm, Sweden in 2003. Stan’s previous education in Kinesiology, continued study in Myofascial bodywork, and work experience makes a nice complement to the CSHA teaching staff. He teaches CSHA’s Massage Level III class.

Bob Morgan, CMT, - M.S., Biochemistry/Microbiology, M. S., Physiology, B.S., Biology, B.A., Chemistry. Bob is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts and has his own private practice. He has worked as a Medical Chemist, Researcher, Investigator, and Technologist and has written over 20 published medical research publications. Bob has been teaching for CSHA since 1994. He teaches Physiology, Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, and Pathology. He is also a member of the CSHA program development committee and has had a considerable role in the continued development of the sciences in the CSHA programs.

Jerry Munson, CMT - holds a B.S. from the University of Colorado. He is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts Massage Therapy Program and is the Business course instructor. Jerry brings much experience for help in starting up your own massage business as well as a great deal of humor.

Amy Nelson, CMT - is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts Massage Therapy and Trauma Touch Therapy Programs. Amy is a member of the administrative staff, teaches the Massage I, II and III courses, she has a private practice and works at Rocky Mountain Spine and Sport Physical Therapy Clinic.

Elizabeth O’Donnell, D.C., CMT, - B.S. in Dance from State University of New York in Brockport. She is also a graduate from the National Holistic Institute and the School of Orthopedic Massage and Life Chiropractic College West in California. Elizabeth is an Anatomy instructor and teaches Massage Level I & II for CSHA.

Kirk Phillips, CMT - a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts 700 Hour Massage Therapy Program. Kirk is a massage therapist at the JC Penny Spa in Park Meadows. He is a clinic and library/lab supervisor for CSHA. Kirk is a much-appreciated member of the CSHA community, as he demonstrates consistent sensitivity to the emotional tone of the students, helping to build confidence and address learning challenges.

Denyce Ortiz, CMT,- holds a B.A. in Modern Languages from Metro State College, she is a licensed Estetician and a graduate from the Colorado School of Healing Arts Massage Therapy Program. She is the program cordinator and an instructor for the Spa Arts and Sciences Program at CSHA. Denyce believes that every personal contact she makes brings her closer to engaging her full potential.

Tim Ransom, CMT - is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts 1000 Hour Massage Therapy Program and 100 Hour Sports Program, has completed advanced training in Positional Release, Trauma Touch Therapy, Cranial Sacral, and Lymphatic Drainage. He has a successful private practice which specializes in lymphatic drainage, and has been a member of the CSHA faculty since 1998. Tim teaches the CSHA Lymphatic Drainage program and is a member of the program development committee at CSHA.

Jeanne Ratchford, NCMT,-B.S. in Civil Engineering from Marquette University and a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts AOS Degree in Massage Therapy with an emphasis on Oncology Massage and Lymphatic Drainage. Jeanne is a clinic director and instructor for the CSHA Integrative Massage course.

Barbara Salage, CMT, - graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts in 1997 and has a successful private practice located in Arvada. She teaches Healing Touch, Body Centered Therapy and Aromatherapy for the school. Patience, insight and confidence defines her work as well as her teaching which inspires students to trust in both their technical and internal skills.

Chris Smith, CMT, TTT™ - Director of Education; Chris attended the University of New Mexico and Colorado State University and is a graduate of the Colorado School of Healing Arts. Chris has been with CSHA since 1988 and is a member of the program development committee. Chris’s personal philosophy is that life moves toward wholeness and that direction should not be taken lightly. Like all life, we learn to side step the fearful minds that keep us from the logical, lucid and coherent motions, which give meaning to our lives. “There is only the dance,” wrote T.S. Eliot. There is only the dance of congruence, and it is the only dance which brings us joy. Chris is trained in Hakomi Integrative Somatics and has extensive continued education in trauma & recovery. She is an instructor and co-developer of the internationally recognized Trauma Touch Therapy™ Program.

Kristen Will, CMT - B. A., Liberal Arts, Evergreen State College in Washington. Kris is a graduate of the CSHA 1000 hour Massage Therapy Program and 270 Hour Oncology Program. Kris is the CSHA Librarian, and has been teaching at CSHA since 1989 and plays a significant role in the continued development of CSHA curriculum and resource center. She also teaches Massage Level II, Palpation of Anatomy, Oncology Level I and is the Clinic/Lab Director.

Jennifer Willey, CMT- a graduate of the CSHA 1000 Hour Massage Therapy Program and the Cranial Sacral Program. Jennifer is a CSHA clinic director and teaches Massage Level I. The ethics of Jennifer’s teaching style manifests clarity by virtue of an unwavering focus on each student’s welfare.

Stanley Zweber, CMT, - B.A. in Geography from the University of Colorado. Stan is a graduate of the CSHA 670 CMT Program and the 530 Hour Cranial Sacral Program and teaches beginning and advanced Seated Massage courses for the school. He has a private practice in Boulder and provides chair massage in numerous corporate and retail settings. He has pursued his passion for the healing arts with continued advanced studies in Cranial Sacral Therapy and traditional Peruvian healing modalities.
